In recent years, music streaming services have become incredibly popular, offering users a vast library of music that they can listen to whenever they want. As music streaming services have become more popular, the demand for devices that can play them has also grown. One such device is the WiiM Pro, a versatile music streamer that combines all the latest technologies and protocols, making it the ultimate (and most affordable) home audio hub available.
The WiiM Pro is a small but extremely powerful device that delivers all the options needed to listen to Tidal or Apple Music or any other music service anywhere in the house. It also serves as the hub to a multiroom wireless system, turning any analog audio equipment into a smart, network connected system with Wi-Fi or Ethernet. This allows users to modernize their favorite equipment for a fraction of the cost of buying a new setup, while also enjoying hi-res audio sources from the available sources.
The WiiM Pro is the latest in the WiiM home ecosystem, which also includes the WiiM Mini streamer. “The WiiM Pro was designed with one goal in mind: to provide users with the best possible sound experience for serious audiophiles and general music lovers alike,” says Lifeng Zhao, CEO of Linkplay Technology. “As audio equipment has modernized, it’s simultaneously cornered users into choosing one ecosystem – typically at a hefty price tag. The WiiM Pro gives the control back to the user. It’s an affordable solution that lets you bring together all of your favorite audio equipment into one place and control it right from your smartphone, not only letting you give your favorite equipment new life, but also making your everyday listening easier.”
The WiiM Pro has a compact design that makes it easy to install and set up. It is a small black box that supports up to 24-bit/192kHz audio output and features an integrated TI stereo DAC providing a high-quality analog audio output, with 106dB SNR, high dynamic range, and -92dB THD+N performance. The physical connections available in the WiiM Pro include RCA, optical Toslink and Coax outputs for bit-perfect sound and gapless playback.
In terms of services and protocols, the WiiM Pro supports AirPlay 2, Alexa Casting, Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Deezer, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, and more. Roon Ready will also be supported soon. It also features Chromecast Audio, which lets users cast YouTube Music, TV audio, radio stations, podcasts, and local content directly from any Chromecast-enabled app. WiiM Pro will pop up automatically in the WiiM Home app.
With the simple in-app guide and compact size, the device can be set up in less than two minutes. And the WiiM Pro is always improving with frequent, automatic software OTA updates. No need to visit grandma to update the WiiM Pro.
The WiiM Pro can be connected to any analog audio equipment, including those seventies JBL speakers and eighties Marantz amplifier, to Wi-Fi or Ethernet. This brings a whole new life to home entertainment and allows working with Siri, Alexa, and Google voice assistants to control music selection, volume, and playback. From the app, users can adjust any part of the home system with 10-band digital equalization and a manual graphic EQ.
The WiiM Pro’s affordability does not compromise the quality of the music for those that want the best quality digital high-resolution audio. The device supports up to 24-bit/192kHz audio output, and the integrated TI stereo DAC provides a high-quality analog.
